We extend a warm welcome to OA Justin Chippendale, who takes up
the reins as Headmaster of King's Hall School. The close association
between our two schools is very much to the benefit of both, and we
look forward to a long and fruitful partnership with Justin over the
coming years. We wish Justin, his wife Claire and their children Eliza,
Joss and Hettie every happiness as they settle into their new
surroundings.

Phil Squire (right, speaking to Roger Poland) retired in March after over 20 years
as the school's medical officer, thus ending an association with King's that began
when he was a pupil at the then Pyrland Hall. He will be remembered by all for
his expert, warm, caring approach to everyone he met, and we hope we will still
see him on the sports touchlines and at school functions.
O
ur Bursar, John Boal,
moved to a job in London
during the Summer term,
and in September we
welcomed Miles
MacEachern as the new
Director of Finance at both King's College and
King's Hall School. We are indebted to Charles
King, who held the fort so admirably during the
interregnum.
Former Bursar of King's Hall, Commander Alan
Prosser, becomes Director of Operations at both
schools.
Many thanks yet again to Brian Lewis, whose
outstanding photography enhances almost
every page of this magazine.
We welcome John Houghton, Simon Carder
and Godfrey Davis to the School Council, and
hope they have a long and happy association
with the school.
Our mathematicians won a record 36 bronze,
20 silver and 12 gold medals in the UK
Intermediate Maths Challenge. Charles
Marshall (above) finished in the top 150
nationally in his year group.
