I
t took the Under 14s a couple of games
to find their feet, but their hard work
was rewarded with a well-deserved 3-0
win over Queen's. There were two
goals from player of the match Rosie
Parr, and one for Elle Bracher, with
Charlotte Dathan impressive in midfield and
Molly O'Donnell controlling the defence. After
an excellent 2-0 midweek win over Exeter
School, we put in a great first half against
Canford, with the score 0-0 at the interval.
Canford increased the pace in the second half,
but Tilly Barker and Fara Cosens had
outstanding games.
In a very entertaining match, Sherborne scored
first, despite some excellent tackles in defence
by player of the match Charlotte Smyth. In the
second half we had most of the attacking
pressure and finally equalised with a fine finish
by Rosie Parr. At Wells we took the lead
through Alice Geraghty from a cross by
Charlotte Dathan, but Wells fought back to lead
2-1 at half-time. Fara Cosens played with focus
and strength, while Tilly Barker was superb in
goal, and the team's determination was
rewarded with an equaliser from Elle Bracher.
Charlie Webb impressed with some excellent
runs down the wing at Blundell's, and another
good battling performance at Bryanston saw
terrific play by Charlotte Dathan in midfield.
Player of the match Flo Main didn't miss a
single ball in defence, and Rosie Parr pounced
on a loose ball in the D to put us back in the
game with five minutes to go, but it was not
meant to be.
We finished our season in style though against
West Buckland, with some of the passing,
movement and distribution a joy to watch.
Two goals from Rosie Parr and a great strike
from man of the match Charlie Webb secured a
well-deserved victory. The team developed
enormously throughout the term, and should
enjoy great success next year!
T
he Bs started well with a
pleasing 1-1 draw against
Wellington, Flo Main
constantly pushing the play
forward, and excellent defence
by Sophie Marshall and Olivia
Higgins, while Georgina Adcock made some
spectacular saves in goal. Strong determined
play against Taunton School resulted in a welldeserved
3-0 victory. Two goals for Emma
Miller and a third for Flo Main secured the win.
We had a tough game against Queen's Under
13 A side. Ball pace was lacking and several
key players were left unmarked. We improved
in the second half though, with better
communication, and putting more width on our
game. We played with great enthusiasm
against Canford, who were bigger, and stronger
with their ball skills. We struggled to get the
ball up to the forwards, but it was a thoroughly
enjoyable game.
We played with good structure and ball pace
against a strong Sherborne side who scored in
the first half. Flo Main captained the side well,
and we were unlucky to concede a second goal
with just 30 seconds left on the clock.
Making a rare appearance on astro, we took a
while to adapt to conditions against Blundell's.
Things improved when we picked up our ball
pace, and Charlotte Mason and Imogen Stuckes
played exceptionally well. It was disappointing
to concede defeat in our last match of the
season, but Emma Miller and Ellie Healey
coped well with last-minute changes of position,
while Charlotte Mason impressed at sweeper.
