Omar Hamaoui in acrobatic
action for the Under 15s
against QEH BristolT
he Under 16s had to wait
some weeks to get their
season under way, and the
first game turned out to be
against a strong Blundell's
side who had won last year's
match 4-0. We played exceptionally well,
scoring an amazing six goals before Blundell's
managed a couple of late consolation goals.
David McNeill scored a brilliant individual hattrick
in the final 6-2 scoreline.
We continued our winning ways with victory
against Wellington, albeit a much closer affair
than the Blundell's match. David McNeill
again played well, and got his name on the
scoresheet for the second match in a row, and
the final 2-1 winning scoreline to King's could
have been a lot more decisive but for some fine
play by the female Wellington goalkeeper.
We struggled rather at Bristol Cathedral School,
and despite a lively and spirited effort against
Marlborough, a rather depleted side lost to
unarguably the stronger team. But there were
many positives to come out of a rather
abbreviated season.

Under 15sA
gainst Clifton the Under 15s
showed flashes of brilliance,
playing some good football
against a strong Clifton
outfit. We passed the ball
well and played with a lot of
spirit, and were rewarded with two excellent
goals from Will Lumley. Harry Heal and Omar
Hamaoui impressed in midfield, and Lloyd
Griffiths made some spectacular saves in goal.
A 4-4 draw against Wycliffe was a superb
result, the whole team working hard throughout
the game. It was a great performance from the
defence who played really well as a unit, with
Alex Scharpf keeping the team in the game
with some fantastic saves in the first half.
4-2 down with ten minutes to go, we were
eventually rewarded with a great individual goal
from Harry Heal and a penalty from skipper Ivo
Gavin.
We then came up against a confident Blundell's
side who immediately asserted their authority,
scoring with their first attack, then adding
another ten minutes later. We forced a fine
save from their keeper and struck the bar with
another effort, but the home side scored again
before half-time. The second half was closely
contested, but once again it was Blundell's who
found the magic scoring touch.
We controlled much of the game against Bristol
Grammar School, but were made to pay for two
lapses in concentration. Harry Heal had earlier
given us the lead, and also hit the bar with a
delicate chip. We showed well against QEH
Bristol, but were up against strong and skillful
opposition.
We then ended the season with a very good
result against a Marlborough team who were
top of the Under 15 league. Our battling side
had learned a great deal over the season, and
there is enormous promise for the future.
