he 2nds had a thoroughly
enjoyable season, though
results didn't always go our
way. 2-0 down at half-time
against Richard Huish, we
started the second half with
greater assurance, and pressure exerted on the
Huish goal was rewarded with a goal for Alice
Konstam. Against Wellington we came out
with all guns blazing but were thwarted by the
Wellington keeper. Katie Butler kept us in the
game with an amazing triple save, but we were
never able to get going in the second half.

espite a slow start to the
season, the 3rds ended the
term with excellent wins
against Sherborne, Wells and
Bryanston. We dominated
much of the Wellington
game with good shots at goal from Holly
Matthews, but in the end had to settle for a 0-0
draw. An excellent performance against Taunton
School by Harriet Johnstone on the wing allowed
us to push forward on many occasions, and
Jessie Danaher was a rock in defence.
We put Queen's under a lot of pressure, but
couldn't quite find the back of the net.
Dominating the early proceedings against
Sherborne, we went into half-time 2-0 up thanks
to goals from Lara Clark. After the interval we
scored again through Hattie Johnstone to see us
to a well-deserved victory.
A tremendous effort against Wells resulted in a
3-2 win. Nikki Chadwick and Mhairi Hall
worked well in midfield, and Lara Clark scored
twice before setting up a third for Harriet
Clarke. Rebecca Turner withstood all pressure
in defence and was player of the match.
We had a very competitive match against
Blundell's, and worked hard without ever really
being able to close out the game - Lara Clark
scored the King's goal, and player of the match
was Milla Bell. We played some great
attacking hockey against Bryanston, Nikki
Chadwick, Mhairi Hall and Antonia Cross
working tirelessly. Mhairi scored our first with
Lara Clark adding the winning second goal,
while Milla Bell showed some lovely skills
under pressure. A great finish to the season!
ball beautifully, and Katie Butler had an
outstanding game in goal. We started well
against Wells with two counter-attack goals
from Fleur Netley, and were unlucky not to add
to this lead. Wells fought back strongly, and
despite stout defence from Harriet Butterfield
and Georgie Thomas, we were unlucky not to
get something out of a tremendously enjoyable
game. Although Blundell's had much of the
possession, there were strong performances by
player of the match Hattie Butterfield, Rebecca
Doyle, Georgie Thomas and Hatti Mason.
Weakened by injury and illness, we performed
with composure and good spirit to earn a 0-0
draw against Bryanston. We were unlucky not
to score through Rosie Main a couple of times
in the first half, while at the other end stout
defending by Jodie Burrows ensured the
opposition never really threatened. We
competed well in a physical game at West
Buckland, Kate Taylor and Fleur Netley playing
particularly well. Unfortunately a defensive
lapse allowed West Buckland to score with just
three minutes left on the clock, but it was
fitting that skipper Rosie Main should sweep in
the equaliser with just 60 seconds of the
season left!
