T
he 2nds started their season
with an encouraging
performance against
Monmouth, in which we
created several good chances.
Man of the match was James
Miller, who made a whole string of excellent
saves in goal. Skipper Seb Agertoft gave us an
early lead from the penalty spot in the next
match against Clifton, who then bounced back
and scored twice in quick succession, before
Max Heine equalised just before the half-time
whistle. The second half was a well-balanced
affair, with no further additions to the scoreline.
We struggled a bit in the first half against
Malvern; however the game changed
completely after the interval, and despite
conceding another goal early on, we found our
way into the game and created a number of
good chances. This was a performance of
huge character and determination, that set us
up well for the Wycliffe game.
Leading 1-0 at the interval, Wycliffe came back
strongly to lead 2-1 with ten minutes to go.
With both Seb Agertoft and Max Heine missing
clear opportunities, it took two quick goals by
Kelvin Chan and
Isaac Jay to
secure a nailbiting
victory.
James Miller in
goal saved his
second penalty in
a week!
Craig Meschede
scored after ten
minutes against
Bristol Grammar
School, and we
then scored again
just before the
half-time whistle.
With a
comfortable twogoal
advantage
we continued to
pressurise the
opposition and never looked like losing the
game. Craig Meschede was on the scoresheet
again against QEH Bristol, and another goal by
Aminu Waziri made for a great result that
guaranteed the side a good final position in the
league table.

U
sing the wind to good
advantage at Monmouth, the
3rds started their season
with a well-struck goal by Ed
Kean. However Monmouth
equalised from the penalty
spot, and scored the winner in the second half -
man of the match was Phil Downie.
Initial confusion in our new-look defence at
Wycliffe allowed the opposition to score three
times in a first half that saw both teams create
numerous chances. After the interval we set
about clawing our way back into the game with
good strikes from captain Richard Dawson, Seb
Worthington and Joe Watts. Olly Mason scored
a fourth, and Joe Watts completed his hattrick,
to silence the home support and
complete a handsome 6-3 win!
Against Blundell's we quickly swept into a 2-0
lead, but they fought back to lead 4-2.
A frantic finish saw King's claw back to 3-4,
but we failed to convert a last-minute penalty
which would have drawn the match. Against
Wellington we were pleased just to be playing
football again after a three-week lay-off.
We overwhelmed the opposition, taking a
commanding three-goal lead after 20 minutes.
Even though Wellington did score just before
half-time, we added a further five goals in the
second half! Max Heine's final tally was four,
Will Sharp scored spectacularly from the
penalty spot, and Richard Dawson, Max Harvey
and Isaac Jay all scored one each.
It was a strong performance against QEH
Bristol, with Isaac Jay scoring twice as we
overwhelmed the opposition. It could have
been a far greater winning margin than 3-1 as
we hit the bar four times in a rather one-sided
affair! All in all, an excellent season with some
tight hard-fought games and a couple of
thumping wins!
