The 55-mile Ten Tors team consisted of
Will Johnson, Rob Ellis, Will Jasper, Archie
Rose, and Will and James Duncan, who all
successfully completed the mission
(despite some badly blistered feet). The
45 and 35-mile teams were also
successful in completing their expeditions.
The summer Field Day saw the RM section
rock climbing and canoeing in North
Devon, the Army section bivouacking and
practising Section Attack drills at
Caerwent, and the RN section camping
and sailing at Wimbleball. The Chindits
enjoyed the delights of Ramscombe and
Cobb's Cross Farm - while at the end of
term Chindit Camp had a very wet, but
successful week on Exmoor.
Lt Brown successfully took over as O/C
Army section for the year, but
unfortunately has now left for pastures
new. A big thank you to Mrs Brown for
stepping in and supporting the RN section
during this new Michaelmas term.
Dr Greedy has taken over the running of
the Chindits, and Miss Cargen has been
commissioned as an officer in the Royal
Navy section. Captain Belfield has been
promoted to Major and has been officially
appointed 2i/c the CCF.
Many cadets have attended courses laid
on by the military, ranging from
powerboating to canoeing to first aid.
It has been good to see a much greater
uptake of these opportunities, and thanks
to Father Mark for overseeing these
courses and getting cadets on them.
