everal new members of staff join
King's College at the beginning of
this new school year: Emily
Stevens joins the Art department, while
Christina Mann comes to us from
Shebbear School to teach Geography.
Victoria Morgan is our new part-time
learning support teacher.
Clare Lewis will teach Geography parttime.
Clare is well known to King's, having
been head of the department before
leaving to teach at Exeter College a few
years ago. Maria Duckham stays on to
teach in the Modern Languages
department, after completing her PGCE
here last term.
Clare Hayes will be coaching hockey this
term, and Adrian Simcox has joined us
from Millfield as our Director of Tennis.
While Sara Similien is away on maternity
leave, Kylie Rowe will be covering her
teaching and some of her coaching, and
Phil Lewis will be Head of PE. Charlotte
Cargen is the new Deputy Housemistress
in Meynell house.
In what must be a
unique achievement in
Ten Tors history, four
members of the same
family were among our
three successful teams
this year: identical
twins James and
William, and Robert
and Matthew Duncan.
School News
There was Oxbridge success for four of our pupils: Greg Albery and Connie Holmes to
read Biological Sciences at Pembroke College and Keble College, Oxford, respectively,
Ella Watts to read Anglo-Saxon, Norse and Celtic at St Catharine's College,
Cambridge, and Charles Marshall to read Computer Science at Oxford.
Our 61 Chemistry team had a
very successful day at Bristol
University taking part in the
Royal Society of Chemistry's
Analytical Chemistry competition.
