A
6-0 win against Richard Huish
was a splendid start to an
outstanding season for the 2nds.
The opposition struggled to keep up with
our pace and movement, Michelle Pearn,
Harriet Kean and Lucy Mead giving our
forwards a plentiful supply of ball, and
Tarn McIntosh finding the back of the net
four times!
We continued our winning streak at
Wellington, moving the ball with pace and
precision. Jess Kennedy scored once in
each half, while Lucy Mead and Georgie
Adcock were outstanding, ably supported
by Harriet Kean and Michelle Pearn.
A debut goal by Hatty Harrison helped us
to a 3-2 win against Taunton School.
Birthday girl Flora Webster scored twice,
the second a neat reverse stick finish.
We found it difficult to break down a wellorganised
Exeter side, but after numerous
short corners, a chance fell to Katy
Preece on the post to tap in. Michelle
Pearn added the second in our 2-0 win.
It was the same winning scoreline against
Queen's, but then a setback at
Cheltenham, where we lost 3-2. We were
soon back to our winning ways though at
Sherborne, where there was a brace of
goals each for Flora Webster and Jess
Kennedy - player of the match was Amelia
Evans for her tireless running.
We played out a goalless draw against an
extremely competitive Clifton side, before
a team ravaged by injury went down 3-0 at
Blundell's. We drew 1-1 against an
unbeaten Bryanston side, player of the
match Alia Hamaoui making some
spectacular saves. And finally a
resounding 6-2 win against West Buckland
- a fitting end to an outstanding season!
T
he 3rds had an amazing season,
losing just a single game. It started
with a resounding 4-0 win against
Richard Huish. There were two goals
apiece for Martha Gray and Sophia
Collins, and there was some great allround
play by Lara Rodgers and Kitty
McIntosh.
Goals by Katie Blowers, Martha Gray and
two from Penny Guess proved too much
for Wellington - Emily Parris played
strongly throughout. We then suffered an
unfortunate 3-2 loss at Taunton School,
despite great defending by Molly
O'Donnell. Player of the match was
Camilla Arliss who made some brilliant
saves under pressure.
Outstanding teamwork against Exeter
School resulted in a 3-0 win, but we had to
fight hard for our victory at Queen's.
Eventually though we scored through
Penny Guess, Martha Gray and Kitty
McIntosh - player of the match was Alice
Stillwell.
The game against Cheltenham wasn't
decided until four minutes from the end
when a great cross by Kitty McIntosh was
swept home by Penny Guess, Alice
Stillwell again the player of the match.
Emily Parris shone at Sherborne with two
great goals and a 100% effort all
afternoon in our 3-2 win. A thrilling 4-1
win against Clifton then followed, and the
next week we managed to draw 1-1
against a strong Blundell's side - a
tremendous team performance.
And then in a triumphant finale to our
season, we romped to a 10-1 win against
Bryanston! Great teamwork up front led to
four goals for Jess Kennedy, while player
of the match went to Kitty McIntosh for
her tireless running and two great goals.
The highlight of the 4ths' season was
their resounding 8-1 win against
Queen's. After Queen's had
cancelled out our early lead, we
stepped up our game and scored
both frequently and regularly, with
Charlotte Mason, Connie Holmes,
Cara Kossen and Issy Clarkson all
catching the eye. The 5ths had two
fixtures, Emma Bell and Johanna
Kastner working well together up
front against Cheltenham, and Flora
Cohen and Megan Kimber playing
particularly well against Sherborne.
