S
uperior skill and ball pace saw the
Under 15s to a convincing 5-0 win
against Wellington, Olivia Rose
opening the scoring with a close-range
shot, before she then added her second.
Player of the match Alicia Mileham
scored the next two goals, before Beth
Horsham coolly slotted the ball past the
keeper at waist height to round off an
excellent team performance.
Strong play by Leea Dod and Nancy Rowe
kept Taunton School pegged back in their
own half, leading to first-half goals for
Olivia Rose, Alicia Mileham and Beth
Horsham. Annie O'Neill made some great
plays up the field in the second half as we
comfortably held on to win 3-1.
We found ourselves pegged back at
Queen's, and conceded after ten minutes.
In the second half though we found a new
aggression resulting in a goal for Nancy
Rowe, before Beth Horsham slipped the
ball through the goalie's feet - Maddie
Robinson put in an outstanding effort.
Goals by Nancy Rowe, Alicia Mileham and
Olivia Rose helped us to an outstanding
3-2 victory in a very competitive match
against Cheltenham. And the following
Saturday we recorded a terrific 2-1 win
against a resolute Sherborne side. We let
in an unfortunate goal, but played with so
much determination that the win was no
more than we deserved.
We sadly lost against Clifton, but then
played magnificently against Bundell's,
controlling the game from the start, and
taking an early lead through Alicia
Mileham. The team managed to put into
practice drills that we had worked on in
the week, and, playing with great
confidence, scored three more goals
through Beth Horsham and Olivia Rose.
We were though unlucky to lose an
exciting end-to-end finale to the season
against Bryanston. Both teams failed to
convert chances in the first half, but
Bryanston managed to find the net twice
in the second half, despite some excellent
keeping by player of the match Imogen
Segrave.
T
he Bs started slowly against
Wellington, but before long Imogen
Nash hit a first-time shot to give us
a 1-0 lead. She scored again in the
second half, but Wellington earned their
draw with a late short corner. We
dominated against Taunton School, but
couldn't manage to put all our chances
away. We still ran out 2-1 winners
though - joint players of the match were
Jess Sones and Louisa Cave.
Excellent goals by Phoebe Smith and
Imogen Nash managed to see off Queen's
- player of the match was Tara Bell for a
strong midfield performance. And we
were to win handsomely against
Cheltenham, Imogen Nash scoring four
goals! A spectacular 5-1 victory in
inexplicably searing heat!
Against Sherborne we sadly lost our
unbeaten record, but they were very
strong, and things could have been worse
had it not been for the heroic efforts of
Meiling Daniell-Greenhalgh in goal! We
played some of our best hockey of the
term against Clifton, but to no avail.
Imogen Nash scored a particularly
impressive goal in the top left-hand corner,
while player of the match was India Gavin
who was very strong in defence.
We dominated possession against
Blundell's, but found it difficult to work our
way through a crowded D. We eventually
won 3-0 though, player of the match going
to India Gavin who impressed in defence.
And we won 3-2 in the season finale
against Bryanston, playing our best
hockey of the season. Olivia Murray
scored an excellent short corner, followed
by further goals for Imogen Nash and
Phoebe Smith - a great way to end the
season!
