B
en Sykes is the current Friends'
Chairman and has steered the
organisation through a busy and
successful year. Friends are
invited to selected school
events, sports matches,
concerts and dinners, as well as a special
annual Friends' Festive Tea before the Carol
Service at Christmas, and an annual Friends'
reception during the Summer term.
Friends are encouraged to be part of the
Business Network in which all members of the
King's community can make the most of King's
connections. Friends of King's have expertise
in many fields, and the Network will allow
members to transfer knowledge and share
expertise. The Network will be of great benefit
to current pupils and young OAs who need help
to make choices regarding universities, courses
and careers.
A large group of Friends arrived at King's on
June 27th for the Summer Reception. Drinks
and canapés were enjoyed before the school
summer concert. The Chairman of Friends of
King's, Ben Sykes, spoke about the Friends'
events over the last year, and thanked the
Headmaster for his hospitality and the
Development Office staff, Leisa Lavender and
Rebecca Hickie, for their support.
