Once each term, as has become our custom, a
choir of parents, staff and pupils have sung
Choral Evensong. I always enjoy singing the
priest's 'bits'. Our thanks to Chris Holmes who
teaches us the music with such gentleness and
good humour.
The Summer term was brought to an end with
the traditional 'walkabout' by the leavers. The
following day The Rev'd Prebendary Lynda
Barley, a governor of King's Schools, Taunton,
preached at the Leavers' Eucharist which
brought the academic year to a close.
During the year, the Oasis meditations have
continued to attract strong numbers. Oasis is a
voluntary devotion in Chapel after prep on a
Tuesday evening, led by pupils and followed by
hot chocolate and doughnuts.
The charities which benefitted this year from
our Chapel fund are Help for Heroes, The Frank
Buttle Trust, Brainwave, The British Legion,
The Christmas Stars project, The Stroke
Association, and the Diocese of Bath and Wells
Zambia Appeal. The major thrust of our
fundraising this year has been the Woodard
Schools project to build a school in the Kenyan
Rift Valley with the Kariandusi School Trust to
which the Chapel fund contributed £1811.00.
