Ameye, did not drop a set all afternoon in an
excellent 7-2 win. For Hollie Bell this was her
last match at King's - her smiling face will be
missed next year!
Charlie Webb serves for the 2nds during their
impressive 7-2 win against Taunton School
their three sets. At Canford we found ourselves
on the wrong end of the final scoreline - our
set winners were Katie Blowers and Alice
Geraghty, and Charlie Webb and Melissa
McFarlane.
But in a strong finish to the season, Kate Taylor
marked her last match at King's for the 3rds
with a convincing 8-1 win over Queen's. She
finished in style winning all three of her sets,
only dropping three games with her partner
Hattie Kean!
F
or the 2nds, the season started
on a bright note with a
comfortable 6-3 win against
Wellington. Flora Evans and
Martha Gray had a particularly
successful afternoon, winning two
of their three sets 6-0. Three days later we
recorded an excellent victory against a powerful
Taunton School side. Martha Gray and Flora
Evans again played some intelligent doubles
tennis, and won all three of their sets with
ease.
It was a disappointing day though at Blundell's,
where we suffered our first defeat of the
season. Both our first and second pairs were
unable to find the right game for the astro
courts in their opening sets, and confidence
was low for the rest of the afternoon. Megan
Ameye and Hermione Warmington though
played superbly, and won all three of their sets.
At Canford, Martha Gray and Luisa
Roggenkaemper won two of their sets, while
Hollie Bell and Flora Evans picked up one of
theirs, but it wasn't quite enough to seal the
win. In our final match of the season against
Queen's, four of the team, Martha Gray, Luisa
Roggenkaemper, Flora Evans and Megan
I
n our first match of the season at
Wellington, we lost only two sets, with
Luisa Roggenkaemper and Katie
Blowers dropping only six games
during the course of the afternoon!
And it was another convincing win the
following week against Taunton School, as we
ran out 8-1 victors in the end.
Unfortunately we lost narrowly at Blundell's,
despite another superb performance from Luisa
Roggenkaemper and Katie Blowers who won all

In their first match of the season, the result
of the 4ths' game against Blundell's went
down to the last match of the day between
both third pairs. Annabel Lumley and Carla
Mauersberg held their nerve and played
some exciting points to win their final set
7-5, which clinched the win!
At Canford we had some close games, but
the opposition were simply too strong.
