2nd XIT
he 2nd XI's first match
against Malvern proved, as
expected, very challenging -
after a nervous start we
conceded a quick goal
followed by a penalty. We
improved greatly though and put pressure on
the opposition, but Malvern continued to find
the net in the second half - the King's goal
came from Aminu Waziri. It was a convincing
performance though against Wycliffe, and a
well-deserved 1-0 win. Goalscorer and man of
the match was Alex Brown.
Against Sherborne we played well in the first
half, only to concede a goal seconds before the
half-time break. After the interval we improved
our game and were rewarded with an equaliser
from Aminu Waziri. After that the whole team
showed exceptional spirit and stamina to
secure a well-deserved draw. Our best football
of the season so far!
Against Monmouth we found ourselves up
against formidable opposition, but nevertheless
played some attractive football, in a very
pleasing team effort. We had a much closer
match at Clifton than the scoreline might
suggest. After Clifton had taken early control of
things and a 2-0 lead, Seb Worthington scored
to make it 2-1 early in the second half. The
result looked in the balance, but the home side
finished with a flurry of late goals.
We controlled the game against QEH Bristol for
much of the time and should really have won.
Two headed goals by Aminu Waziri gave us a
well-deserved 2-1 lead at half-time, but we
allowed the opposition back into the game with
a well-worked equaliser. Despite intense
pressure in the dying moments, we couldn't
quite force the winner.
In our final match of the season, we started
well, putting Marlborough under a lot of
pressure, and were rewarded with a goal from
Aminu Waziri after an assist by Ross
Kieswetter. After half-time we continued to
press, and played with lots of spirit, but had to
succumb in the end!

Joe Dalton hits a
spectacular strike for
the 2nd XI against
QEH Bristol O
ur season got off to a
flying start, with a
disciplined and impressive
performance to beat
Wycliffe 8-2. There were
commanding midfield
performances from players of the match Ryan
May and Rhys Davies, who provided our goals
along with Jonny Parsons, Henry Robinson and
Kelvin Choi.
Monmouth though was the stereotypical game
of two halves. After a slow start we trailed 5-0
with only a third of the game gone, but from
that moment the back four got themselves
organised and the midfield began to assert
themselves. We won the second half 3-2,
Jonny Parsons and Conor McAndie the scorers.
After a rather one-sided affair against
Sherborne, the Blundell's fixture was an
excellent game of football that could have gone
either way. Blundell's took an early lead
through a close-range goal, but we dominated
possession in the second half, and deserved
our equaliser from Jonny Parsons. The season
ended with a 4-3 win against Castle School.
