The sea is a love affair,
Its ebb and flow the relentless return of heartbreak,
As man and woman come together
Pulled by forces indiscernible,
So the sea is pulled to its motions,
And has been since the beginning of time,
Since we first saw a pattern of ourselves
Reflected in the monotonous flow of the tides.
Destined to inflict pain, to hurt those ensnared in her enchanting waves,
Not caring for those she leaves behind.
For, through all that occurs, as each day passes by,
It is surely going to be, at last, calm and still.
