to the latest issue of Leggett Magazine. For the moment, we are

publishing this issue in digital format only - it's not quite the same

as picking up a glossy magazine and putting it on your coff ee table,

but these are extraordinary times. We are a family fi rm, and our clients'

and friends' safety is uppermost in our minds. Printing 60,000 copies and

distributing them across France, the UK, and all corners of the world is a step

too far at the moment, but we hope that you will support us in our decision to,

temporarily, take the magazine online.

There is certainly plenty to enjoy in this issue. Award-winning journalist Liz

Rowlinson tells us why Occitanie has much to off er property buyers and helps

us explore the very best places in Paris. We also have articles on buying and

selling property, tips on property renovation, and our regional features where

you can browse through a small selection of the 14,000 properties we have

Nobody knows how the French property market will perform over the coming

months, but there are two crucial considerations that we would like to

share. The fi rst is that, at the start of this year, we had record enquiry levels

and record sales - the market as a whole had seen 1.1m transactions in the

previous 12 months. The underlying demand for property was the strongest

for decades.

The second is that our enquiry levels remain undiminished and requests for

"country" houses are soaring. It's clear that many people are now looking for a

property with outside space and, preferably, a defi ned area that they can use

to work from home.

Above all this, though, we hope that you are healthy, safe and that this

magazine provides an enjoyable diversion in these unpleasant times.
