write an article
for the Magazine describing
our region, I
usually struggle to stick to my
600 words as we have cities,
lakes and ski resorts to highlight.
So, this time I thought that
I would simply touch on those
areas I think are best suited for
different people.

I'm rather biased as I live in the
Three Valleys which, for me, is a

winner with it's superbly interlinked
resorts including world
famous names such as Courchevel,
Méribel, Val Thorens and
Saint Martin-de-Belleville… all
available through a single ski
pass. This is currently the largest ski area
in the world with
600km of pistes and 183 lifts.
The tourist office want to remain "number one"
and so the
investment that goes into this
area is staggering. You will see
it in the quality of the lifts, the
impressive snow cannons and
the ancillary activities that are
available for non skiers.
