Playful Parisians have been taking the train to the Atlantic
beach town of Pornichet on the Côte d'Amour since the mid
1800s. It takes only four hours from Paris and some families
have even made the move permanently due to the good
schools. The thriving beach town is full of gorgeous stone
villas with colourful wood accents and many restaurants.
It's on the same fabulous fine sandy bay as the resort of
La Baule. Prices can be punchy - there's an historic six-bedroom
villa, built in 1882, available for €1,155,000
