Joanna and Trevor Leggett are proud of the way their family business
has supported clients and friends throughout adversity
K
eep calm
and carry on
- is what we
were taught
growing up,
it's the British
way - well, that's exactly
what the staff and agents of
Leggett Immobilier have been
doing this year. Never, in our
21 years of trading, have we
been so proud of the people
we work with. Whether it has
been keeping in touch with
elderly vendors, juggling dates
with landlocked buyers and
Notaires, or simply supporting
one another when we were
all confined to our homes, our
people have been doing it with
a smile.
Incredibly, our business
has grown throughout the year,
allowing us to take on extra
staff and to expand our network
of local Leggett agents into all
corners of France. Creating jobs
and contributing so positively

to the French economy has
been the icing on the cake.
We have sold around 2,000
properties last year and added
around 220 new agents to the
team - a great achievement.
Most remarkable of all, we go
into 2021 with a sales pipeline
that is 57% higher than this
time last year. We are proud
to say that we are recruiting
throughout France and looking
forward to helping thousands
more clients, from all corners of
the world, realise their dreams.
At the start of the year
the word on everyone's lips
was "Brexit". Would it be
deal or no deal? What will
it mean for my residency
rights, for my pension, for
my education, for my tax
liabilities? These were (and
remain) legitimate questions
and it hasn't been easy to
provide answers. We decided
from the start to communicate
regularly with clients and to
only take our information
from trusted sources. The UK
Government website (www.
gov.uk) is comprehensive and
an excellent starting point.
Similarly, British in Europe is
the largest coalition group
campaigning for the rights of
UK citizens in the EU. They
provide clear and accurate
information on citizens rights
(www.britishineurope.org)
and have an active French
contingent. We continue to
update our website with FAQ's
and our sales support team are
answering client queries every
day.
Sadly, within a few weeks,
the fact that the UK was leaving
the EU took a back seat as the
Coronavirus pandemic turned
the world upside down. France
went into full lockdown on
March 17th 2020. Leggett is
a family firm and we decided
that, above all, the safety of
