LEGGETT IMMOBILIER - LOCAL KNOWLEDGE YOU CAN TRUST
To our east is the Alpes-
Maritimes, which borders Italy
and is a fabulous blend of cultures
- it is one of the most glamorous
destinations globally. Nice Côte
d'Azur airport handles around
14.5m passengers every year, with
an incredibly busy helicopter service
with regular trips to nearby Monaco.
The airport is at one end of the
famous Promenade-des-Anglais,
which runs along the seafront into
the town centre. There are plenty of
beautiful places to visit in Nice, but
the most important has to be the
Leggett office at 2 Avenue Max Gallo
- it's the only address you'll need if
you are looking for property here!
Head inland, and you will come
to the Alpes-de-Haute-Provence
and Hautes-Alpes departments, you
can probably tell by their names
that you are in a different landscape
altogether. Both are part of the
Alps, and some of the valleys are
difficult to access. Each department
has plenty of remote villages, and
the Alpes-de-Haute-Provence is one
of France's least densely populated
parts. Briançon is a spectacular town
in the Haute Alpes, with several of
the historic buildings classified as
UNESCO world heritage sites - well
worth a visit!
Last but not least, we have the
department of Vaucluse. Cyclists
will know it because of the mythical
Mont Ventoux, which regularly
features in the Tour de France. The
barren, windswept landscape at
the top of the mountain is also a
destination point for thousands of
cyclo-tourists each year. Further
west, the landscape softens, and
you will find the colourful and
historic towns of Orange, Avignon,
and Carpentras. Come and explore
PACA for yourself; I'm sure you will
love it as much as I do.
