PHYSICAL EDUCATION IN THE
PRIMARY YEARS BA (HONS)
By studying the BA (Hons) PE in the Primary Years
you will be introduced to the primary National
Curriculum and to developmentally-appropriate
activities and pedagogy. Upon completion of your
course you will have a thorough understanding of
what high quality primary physical education
encompasses. In addition, the PE in the Primary
Years degree allows you to apply theory to
practice by working with children in a variety of
contexts throughout their degree programme,
including inclusion festivals and learning alongside
primary teachers in one of our partnership
schools. Many primary teachers with an
undergraduate specialism in physical education go
on to become a subject leader. This course aims
to prepare you for this changing role and, in doing
so, identify the key skills and attributes associated
with good leadership in education.

STUDENT VIEW
"Chichester University really is a home from home. It is a place I can grow to the
professional I wish to be, with outstanding support and resources. So far, my
two years on the Physical Education and Sports Coaching course has allowed me
to gain experience in schools, try new sports, go on amazing trips to France and
Hungary, and become part of a remarkable family of students being lead by an
array of incredibly friendly and experienced Lecturers."
