GET TO GRIPS WITH THE FUNDAMENTALS OF ENGINEERING
SCIENCE BY STUDYING FOR A HIGHER NATIONAL DIPLOMA IN
ENGINEERING. THIS FULL-TIME COURSE, HELD OVER TWO YEARS AT
THE ISLE OF WIGHT COLLEGE, WILL HELP YOU TO UNDERSTAND
HOW ENGINEERING CAN APPLY TO A RANGE OF INDUSTRIES.
ENGINEERING HNC/HND
Based at the Isle of Wight Further Education
College, the HND course runs over two years and
is classed as a stand-alone and recognised
qualification. Students are able, if they so wish, to
progress on to university to top up their HND to a
full degree. Students are advised to research their
preferred university prior to taking the HND as
entry will be determined by the university at which
they would like to top up their HND. The main aim
of the course is to provide students with a good
understanding of the fundamentals of Engineering
Sciences and Management with knowledge of how
these can be applied in a wide range of industries to
enable professional progression.

The College's main campus is sited in a central island
location on the outskirts of Newport, the county
town of the Isle of Wight and the Island's principal
retail centre.
