HND in Engineering: Four GCSE passes
at grade C or above, including Maths
and English, together with one or more
of the following:
• A UCAS tariff of 120
• One A Level (preferably Science
or Maths)
• One pass in a 6-unit vocational
A Level or National Award in
Engineering
• A broader base of studies
incorporating AS Level
• Success in an Access to Higher
Education Diploma (Science)
• Formally assessed outcomes acquired
via APL or APEL

Accommodation
Many students live in Ryde or Newport which have
plenty of good, reasonably priced flats and shared
housing close or in good commutable distance to
the College. The College does not provide its own
rentable accommodation, however there are many
private letting companies on the Island.
University and Higher Education Finance
If you are interested in studying a full-time or parttime
university course at the Isle of Wight College,
you may be entitled to support towards your
tuition fees from Student Finance England.
