conventional discipline boundaries, including Fine Art, History, Ethnography, Medicine
and Museology. Her interest lies in exploring the cultural and social resonance of
particular museum collections and archives. Currently Shirley is involved in several
collaborations including working with a group of artists contributing to the major
Shrewsbury Museum and Art Gallery redevelopment project. She is also working with
musculoskeletal physiotherapy specialist Professor Ann Moore, and biomedical engineer
Dr Kambiz Saber-Sheikh from the University of Brighton and digital media artist Neil
Bryant, from the University of Chichester, on a Wellcome Trust-funded research
