PRE-SESSIONAL LANGUAGE AND
STUDY SKILLS PROGRAMME
Our Pre-sessional English Programme focuses on
the development of university-level academic
language and study skills for those planning to
undertake degree programmes delivered in English.
The Programme is open to you if English is not your
first or main working language. It is specially tailored
for those who intend to study with us on an
undergraduate or postgraduate programme and
who need to improve their academic and language
skills by the equivalent of 1.0 or 0.5 of an
International English Language Testing System
(IELTS) grade. The Programme is also open to you
if, for other reasons, you wish to improve your
academic language and study skills before beginning
a degree programme in the medium of English. The
Pre-sessional Programme runs in July, August and
early September over ten weeks immediately before
the start of the regular academic year. It is possible
to take the Programme for ten weeks or five weeks.

STUDY ABROAD OPPORTUNITIES
Would you like to spend part of your degree
abroad, visiting exciting destinations and
experiencing new cultures? At Chichester we offer
you the opportunity to spend time abroad whilst
studying for your degree.*
Participating on an exchange programme will not
only give you the opportunity to spend time living
and studying in another country, it will also count
towards your final mark. Whether you spend one
semester or a whole academic year overseas at a
partner university, you will have the experience of a
life time.
STUDENT VIEW
"Ever since I was a young boy I always
dreamed about working with huskies and BIRK
has allowed this dream to come to life in a
truly unforgettable fashion. Working in a
sub-zero Arctic climate has also been a very
unique experience for me and the support I
received from Trine and her family
throughout my 8 month stay was great you
really do become part of the family!"
