THE SLEEPING TREES
The Sleeping Trees is a professional theatre
company comprising three Chichester graduates.
They formed in 2008 and create devised theatre
that fuses physical performance and dark comedy
through the re-interpretation of old forgotten
stories, with a modern twist.
Current Work
The Sleeping Trees Odyssey is the third and final
instalment in the company's stories project. The
show follows the story's hero Odysseus on his epic
journey back from the war at Troy as well as
Homer, the story's author, after he is kidnapped and
held hostage by Hades, Lord of the underworld.
Join Odysseus as he battles his way past vengeful
gods, a hungry cyclops and over forty
supporting characters.
Previous Work
Not Treasure Island is the second instalment in the
stories project and follows on from the company's
last farcical exploration into Enid Blyton's Magical
Faraway Tree. This time the project is Robert Louis
Stevenson's Treasure Island which is subject to a large
dose of distorted admiration as the company paddle
and fight their way through the story with only their
childhood memories and their imagination of
theatre to aid them.
