LEGGETT IMMOBILIER - LOCAL KNOWLEDGE YOU CAN TRUST
and our buyers come from all
over the world. Of course, many
of our sales are to local residents who
come to us because
we have a different portfolio
to our competitors, with many
exclusive listings. However, we
also see buyers come from the
UK, Belgium, the Netherlands
and further afield, like the USA
and Australia.
They come for the food,
culture and climate of course
but there's one extra thing that
attracts them...value for money.
Property here is really well
priced when you consider that
you are buying in the south of
France. You will find around
2,000 properties in Occitanie
on our website with over 1,300
being under €300,000 The Notaires
de France website lists the
average price in the region as
€1,800 per m2 which shows that
you simply don't need to break
the bank to find a lovely family
home.
The region is simply too large
to go into any detail of places to
see and visit. How can you compare
a town such as Tarbes in
the west to NÎmes in the east?
They have different landscapes,
climate and cultures. I can, however,
point you towards some
personal favourites. I love Cahors,
the capital of the Quercy
and home to vineyards that produce
the most beautiful of red
wines. It sits in the middle of the
Lot department and is surrounded by
glorious countryside and
riverside villages. I also have
a soft spot for the mediaeval
town of Carcassonne which is a
UNESCO world heritage site. If
you haven't been to the Citadel
then you really must add it to
your bucket list. The Pyrénées
are wonderful too. More authentic than
the Alps with world
class cycling, excellent skiing
and bargain property. Finally,
I would give a shout out to my
colleagues further east. There is
a beautiful stretch of Mediterranean
coastline that stretches
from the Spanish border to the
Parc de Camargue. Come and dicover
the region for yourself!
