Mike and Jen Stevens from Northampton fell in love with the Limousin region in 2018
and want to make the move to live permanently with their 3 small children. Local agent
Kevin Andrews picks two properties for them to consider for their €200,000 budget;
one in the Limousin and one in the neighbouring department Vienne.
Kevin: Well, you wanted a pool and this lovely
house on the edge of a hamlet has a good sized
pool in the enclosed courtyard. It also has 6
bedrooms - room for family and friends to come
and stay and not have to chuck the kids out of
their rooms! You're around 6km from a village
with facilities including school, cinema and
medical centre, near enough to cycle to. Two
big barns offer scope for play time and projects.
Well within budget, it would benefit from a new
kitchen.
Jen & Mike: We really love the space in the
house and being close to the facilities, this
definitely has possibilities.

Kevin: In a quiet and pretty hamlet this 4-bedroom
traditional stone house is just 2km from a town
with amenities and a fabulous swimming lake, so
you will save money not putting in a pool! Around
25km away Lake Vassivière is one of the largest
artificial lakes in France and brilliant for days out
with water skiing, SCUBA diving and loads more -
you'll feel like you're on holiday there. This house
is spacious, ready to move into and has a lovely
big garden.
Jen & Mike: We know we said a pool was a must
but we really love this house, those barns are
brilliant! I can see us making one into a cinema
room and bar, and one would be a great play
area for the kids.
