despite the uncertainty seen over
recent months with the triggering of
article 50 in the UK and elections in
the Netherlands, Germany, France
and Britain.
I have been heading up the
Prestige department at Leggett for
many years and it's difficult to remember a
time when we had such a
varied selection to offer clients - of
course, it helps that we have over
450 agents "on the ground" sourcing the
prime properties. Our website now
holds over 900 listings of
the finest chateaux, country houses,
villas and ski chalets available.
I'm particularly pleased to see
that our stock of country houses
and estates below the million euro
mark is the best it has ever been.
The market between 500k and a
million euros shows strong demand
from the UK, Belgium, Switzerland
and Scandinavia as well as North
America and Asia. In previous years
it hasn't always been easy to find
prime properties with sensible valuations but
it appears that vendors
now sense an opportunity to sell.
Don't forget that we also have
a number of discreet listings so
please don't hesitate to call if you
don't see anything that suits.
Earlier this year we held a private viewing
in London, highlighting some
of our newbuild, investment properties
with emphasis on
the Alps, PACA and Paris. Some of
our developer clients showcased
their portfolios and we had tax and
financing experts on hand to advise our
clients. The event was fully
booked well in advance and will be
repeated later this year. If you are
interested in attending please do
let me know.
I'd like to finish with words
taken directly from a research report published
by the Notaires de
France earlier this year. They say
that investors "are resorting to safehavens,
with property being one
of the choices of preference for
the French…. it should continue in
2017, ensuring that sales volumes
are kept high". Good news indeed
for the Prestige market in France.
Jane Berry heads up our Prestige
Department.

LEGGETT IMMOBILIER - LOCAL KNOWLEDGE YOU CAN TRUST
Malgré les événements politiques de
ces 12 derniers mois,
notamment le Brexit et les
élections aux Pays-Bas, en Allemagne et
en France, le marché
immobilier national a le vent en
poupe. Les Notaires de France
ont enregistré l'an dernier 843 000
premier semestre. Notre
portefeuille de biens d'exception n'a
jamais été aussi fourni
et nous continuons de recevoir
des demandes d'informations
venues du monde entier, notamment du
Royaume-Uni et ce
malgré le déclenchement de
l'article 50.
Les biens commercialisés
entre 500 000 et 1 000 000 € se
vendent particulièrement bien
aux acquéreurs britanniques,
belges, suisses et scandinaves.
Les clients d'Amérique du Nord
et d'Asie sont également très
nombreux.
